Jerry Pitkin: A Life Shaped by Purpose

Jerry Pitkin’s career was shaped long before his first case. Growing up in rural America, he learned the values of persistence, humility, and responsibility. In his CEO Weekly profile, Jerry shared that while money was sometimes scarce, his family was never without food, love, and support. Those early lessons in resourcefulness and community would later define not just his approach to law, but his outlook on life.

Those early lessons in resourcefulness and community would later define not just his approach to law, but his outlook on life. For Jerry, the law is not about statistics or case values but about people. As he shared in his CEO Weekly profile, “What had once felt fulfilling to me started to feel less meaningful. The business of law began to feel more like a business.”

This realization changed everything for him. “When I started focusing on my clients’ needs and stopped focusing solely on money, I started to feel more like myself again,” he explained. For Jerry, rediscovering his purpose meant recommitting to the principle that the law should serve people during their most difficult moments.

A Team Rooted in Service

Pitkin Law reflects these same values through its staff and attorneys. Attorney Autumn Crosley brings a background that extends far beyond her legal work. In Lee County, she has been involved in road-safety initiatives, an effort rooted in her belief in protecting the well-being of her community. She has also advocated for immigration and equal rights; efforts that demonstrate the same fairness, dignity, and compassion Jerry describes as essential measures of a meaningful life.

In September 2023, the firm welcomed Attorney Maria Rissell, a personal injury lawyer with years of experience helping clients navigate difficult medical and financial recoveries. Her addition strengthened the firm’s ability to serve clients across Southwest Florida while staying true to its mission of empathy and advocacy.

Each member of Pitkin Law believes that law is about more than just outcomes. It is about standing alongside people in need and making a meaningful difference in their lives.
